Maths & Literacy for adults will be starting in September 2014. The classes are delivered at St Elizabeth School free of charge by the Idea Store. The Literacy will be split into 2 workshops, the first will be a Story Sack course and the second will be phonics.
The family maths course will be based on supporting your child with maths in schools and how you can help them.
If you would like to come along please complete an expression of interest form at the school office. For further information on courses available please speak to Sue Braniff at school. You can email Sue at email@example.com
Here are 3 parents from the Maths & Literacy programme delivered at St Elizabeth School free of charge. The courses have been running for 3 years and have impacted parents’ learning and enabled them to further their studies and return to work.
I started English & Maths this year to achieve a Level 2 qualification in functional skills and to get confidence and grow in a positive manner. I want my children to be proud of me as their mother. I achieved much more than I expected as I was nominated for the Adult Learners Award from the Idea store by my tutor Cacia.
I passed the Adult Literacy level 2 qualification which was much more than I anticipated and hope to pass my level 2 maths this week. I am starting to see my goal achieved, as I believe in myself now and feel I can accomplish anything.
I started English & Maths this year to help me with my spelling and punctuation and my maths needed some attention. I feel much more confident about sitting my exam this week as I feel more positive.
I started English and Maths this spring term because I wanted to achieve my level 2 qualification to better myself. I will be looking for work in September and would like to prepare myself academically.
I entered a presentation competition against all the language students at the Idea Store,. I prepared the presentation in class and practised it at home.
My goal is to do level 2 Maths, as I intend to work on my timing and deliver my very best.
