Black History Month
All staff and governors of St Elizabeth Catholic Primary School welcome you to our community.
St Elizabeth has a strong Catholic ethos. Our children are encouraged to pray together, do everything to the best of their ability and be kind and considerate to others.
Thursday 5th November is the feast day of St Elizabeth. Elizabeth was the wife of Zachariah, the mother of John the Baptist and a relative of Mary the mother of Jesus. Elizabeth’s name means ‘God is my oath’ or ‘my God is my fortune’.
Look at this picture:
Mary visits Elizabeth. “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord…”
Who do you think is in the picture?
What do you think is happening?
Why are they so happy?
Why did God make Elizabeth have a baby?
What else do you know about St Elizabeth? Tell your teacher about what you find out.
