All staff and governors of St Elizabeth Catholic Primary School welcome you to our community.
St Elizabeth has a strong Catholic ethos. Our children are encouraged to pray together, do everything to the best of their ability and be kind and considerate to others.
Welcome back, everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful summer holiday and were able to learn many new and exciting things either abroad or here. I was really pleased to see how everyone arrived at school on Thursday smiling (especially the parents) and how the atmosphere was very positive and happy. It was wonderful to see the children (who seem to have shot up in the holidays) excited to see their new teach-ers and meet their friends.
As always we have a few new initiatives this year which we will keep you informed about. We are really promoting our ethos and values this year and hope you will be joining us to support your children in the understanding of: Respect, Relationships, Resilience and Responsibility. Our curriculum focus continues to be Reading, Writing and Maths with a big push on Creative Design… watch this space.
One message I do want to get across to parents is to take time to TALK to your children about what they have learnt, about what is in the news, and their views on things. Talk is very important and helps to build our vocabulary and comprehension as well as our social skills.
On Wednesday we were able to be a part of the historical event of celebrating Queen Elizabeth II rule as the longest serving monarch. The children enjoyed the day and were able to find out about the other countries where she is the monarch. Well done all those who came up with the names of other countries.
Thank you to all the parents who attended their child’s curriculum meeting this week – this was an oppor-tunity to hear about what your child will be learning this term and all the daily routines that we have to ensure that your child has an excellent all round education. Please do read through the newsletter to en-sure you get to know our procedures and look on website to keep you updated.
I am looking forward to a fun & exciting term.
